Albert G Backhouse dob 29 Oct 11, later changed to 27 Oct 11 was a married Motor Coach something (Army Transport) sorry can't read the 3rd word of his occupation & nor could the transcriber read any of the occupation!
Mary Backhouse dob 1 Aug 10 or it could be 18 with a faded top bit of the 8 was a married Shopkeeper (mixed business).
Albert A Backhouse later 16.12.55 changed to Anthony with an A added 26.9.80 dob 22 Oct 34 was single at School.
Then there's 3 lines redacted.
James Doherty dob 8 May 22 was single Apprentice Centre Lathe Turner. I'm not convinced of the word Centre, but that's what is transcribed, & I'm not certain what it is

Albert was a motor coach trimmer.
In those days a centre lathe would always be operated by a skilled man classed as a turner.

The Mary aged 24 was Thomas and Martin's sister on the 1911 census also of Roscommon.
There are 11 Thomas Doherty on the 1939 register for Manchester Birth dates ranging from 1868 to 1916 and 4 in Salford.Hopefully someone with access to the details can find the right one for you .
It was interesting to see that Albert's sister Esther had married Mary's brother Thomas.

The 1911 census has Mary 24 a domestic servant with Martin 30 a hotel waiter and Thomas aged 33 running a chip shop with Mary Esther assisting. This would put Thomas's birth at 1877and match the 1939 register you have. Also on this census it says 5 children 2 have died and where May(Mary)'s name is writtn someone had started writing Ali and crossed it out. Other child Thomas Patrick. This address is Bury street Salford.

The other Thomas Doherty in 1911 Armour plate worker with children Thomas ,Winifred and Mary was born 1884 Manchester address in 1911 Eccles Street Openshaw.

These are the marriages I referred to:

Hi Winnie & mygriffiths Wow thank you. Have some of the information, but this is coming together nicely . Think have Thomas family on 1901 & 1911 census in Ireland, father Michael with a second wife Mary Jane Gibbins first wife Bridget McGreal, died I think age 33 1886. Just sent for Thomas & Mary's marriage just to confirm father MIchael. Says depatched 30th May for standard delivery What! Never mind will have to wait. Think have proved it's them though as have Martin as same parents a brother Dominic has same parents & witness on his marriage say John Joe Doherty who is there half brother son of Mary Jane & Michael, & the Mary same parents. fingers crossed. Michael & Mary Jane also have a son Patrick on 1901 & 1911 census so Brilliant!
